Digestive, respiratory and immunity supplements; DGL chewables.
Licorice root extract across the full functional range — from high-glycyrrhizin to deglycyrrhizinated (DGL) and cosmetic glabridin grades.
Glycyrrhizin-standardised licorice extracts, glabridin for skin care and deglycyrrhizinated grades.
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is one of the most versatile botanicals in CTA's portfolio, serving the supplement, pharma, food and cosmetic sectors from a single root. We extract and standardise for glycyrrhizin, the principal saponin, with assay by HPLC and gravimetry.
CTA's licorice programme spans the complete functional spectrum: glycyrrhizin grades from 10–20% by HPLC to 20–50% by gravimetry; a deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) grade with glycyrrhizin reduced below 3% for digestive applications; and glabridin — the prized skin-brightening flavonoid — for cosmetic use. The process library includes purification and drying control, a heat-sensitivity study, solvent- and water-extraction upgradation, and a plant-scale ≥20% glycyrrhizin route.
CTA supplies Mulethi across multiple grades. Custom specifications are developed against a documented buyer requirement.

All values are typical specifications and are confirmed batch-by-batch on the Certificate of Analysis. Custom specifications can be developed against a buyer's documented requirement. Values are indicative and to be confirmed by CTA's technical team before publication.
CTA's licorice programme is supported by a documented, heat-controlled process library:
A documented process library is what separates a speciality product from a commodity — it makes grades reproducible and lets CTA develop a custom specification with confidence.
Statements describe traditional use and the role of the active in normal body function. They are structure–function statements and not claims to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Digestive, respiratory and immunity supplements; DGL chewables.
Glycyrrhizin-standardised actives for classical and proprietary formulations.
Natural sweetening and flavour-masking applications.
Glabridin and licorice actives for brightening and soothing skincare.
Licorice and glycyrrhizin are permitted under FSSAI; glycyrrhizin carries defined usage limits in some food categories and markets. Grade-specific documentation and dossiers are provided on enquiry.
Note: grades, marker percentages and regulatory status are indicative and to be confirmed by CTA's technical and regulatory team before publication.
DGL is licorice extract with glycyrrhizin reduced below 3%. It is used in digestive formulations where the soothing properties of licorice are wanted without a significant glycyrrhizin load.
Yes. Glabridin is a flavonoid isolated from licorice, valued in cosmetics for skin-brightening positioning. CTA produces cosmetic-grade glabridin as part of its licorice programme.
Glycyrrhizin is assayed by HPLC (typically for 10–20% grades) and by gravimetry (for 20–50% grades). The method is stated on the Certificate of Analysis.
