Bacopa monnieri Extract

Cognitive-support extract standardised for total bacosides, with assay by UV and USP-method HPLC.

Bacopa monnieri — Brahmi — is a classical Ayurvedic nootropic and one of the most clinically studied botanicals for cognitive support. CTA extracts the whole herb and standardises it for total bacosides, the saponin glycosides that serve as the active marker.

We supply 20%, 40% and 50% bacoside grades, with assay determined by UV and by USP-method HPLC. CTA's process library includes a dedicated purification SOP, an ethyl-acetate wash step and a purified-fraction upgradation route — the controls that move a Bacopa extract from a basic grade to a clean, high-assay nutraceutical active.

Our Process Depth

Why this is a CTA speciality

CTA's Bacopa programme is supported by a documented purification and upgradation route:

  • Standardised whole-herb extraction to 20% / 40% / 50% bacosides
  • Dedicated bacoside purification SOP
  • Ethyl-acetate wash step for impurity removal
  • Purified-fraction (PHD) upgradation route for high-assay grades
  • Dual assay control — UV and USP-method HPLC

A documented process library is what separates a speciality product from a commodity — it makes grades reproducible and lets CTA develop a custom specification with confidence.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The percentage is the assayed content of total bacosides — the active saponin glycosides in Bacopa. A higher percentage means a more concentrated active, allowing a lower dose per capsule. The right grade depends on the buyer's intended dosage and claim.

Bacopa is assayed by UV and by USP-method HPLC. The USP method is offered for buyers whose dossiers require a pharmacopoeial assay.

CTA's standard Bacopa extract is produced from the whole herb, which is the conventional and pharmacopoeially recognised plant part.
